"Los Angeles' Premiere Surf
School" "The
Official Surf School of Manhattan Beach"
It doesn’t get any better than summertime in Manhattan Beach.
Gentle westerly ocean breezes take the edge off what can be high temperatures inland. Average air temp is 70 degrees with
water temps around 68. This means boardshorts and bikinis, winter is over, wetsuits no longer required. The surf camps begin at 10:00 a.m., by this time the local dawn patrollers have all gone off to work
or summer school, the winds are shifting to onshore sending the remaining few diehard surfers to the parking lot. Now it’s time for the beginner surfers to take over. Summer means small friendly surf
for the south bay. The swell is from the south and is blocked by the Palos Verdes Peninsula and Catalina Island, making for
perfect beginner waves
Fun daily and weekly Summer Surf Camps for all ages at
Rosecrans Ave. Held June through back to school, Monday thru Friday, 10 am - 2 pm. Surfing Camp includes the use of surfboard
and Billabong wetsuit. Personal instruction with 1:4 ratio max. Small groups, just surfing.
2008 Surf Camp Rates: $85 per day $395 per week
