ABOUT JALAMA:

  • Jalama Campground is located approximately 1 hour north of Santa Barbara.  Our campsite is right on the sand with fun waves right out front.
  • WAVES: To the north of our site is a reef with a fun right and left.  Right out front and to the south for about 1/2 a mile is a stretch of beach break littered with fun hollow peaks.  At the very south end of the beach is Tarantulas, which is a right point on a north swell and a left reef on a south.  The water can get really chilli, so bring at least one fullsuit, 4/3 if you have one, and booties if you dont mind them.
  • Two minutes from our site is the Jalama Beach General Store, which serves breakfast and lunch, and carries just about everything you need in case you may have forgotten something.  It is also home to possibly the best tasting burger on the planet. Honestly.  So you may want to bring a few extra bucks.
  • WEATHER: Jalama can get very cold in the early morning and night.  It is situated at the opening of a canyon which causes cold offshore winds to blow nearly every morning and night, so pack warm.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Sleeping Bag
  • Tent (arrange to share with friends if possible)
  • Surfboards (as many as you want) and Accessories
  • Wetsuits (At least one.  Its nice to put on a dry one in the morning.  4/3mm if you have one, but a 3/2mm is fine)
  • Warm Clothes (Sweatshirt, Beanie, Jeans, Sweats, Ugs)
  • Regular Clothes (Weather can be very nice during the day)
